Polar— Chronicle of the thaw

ART
  • We were invited to participate in the art residency at 180 Creative Lab, a Laboratory for experimentation in video, music, design, and illustration. Our project presented was an installation featuring around 1,000 meticulously crafted pyramids, each symbolized by a different colour, the alarming reduction in Arctic ice. The choice of the pyramid form is significant; it conveys a sense of balance amid the environmental crisis. At the installation's core is a white canvas representing the remaining ice, where dynamic video mapping illustrates the pole's changing topography over the years. This fusion of handcrafted artistry and technology invites viewers to engage with the pressing climate change issues through a documentary art installation.
